Scenario #1 - Hydraulic Oil Spill in Shop Yard
Background:
On Friday, December 1 at 3:45pm, the Product Support team is finishing up working on D-21 in front of the shop, topping off fluids and getting ready to tram it over to the vendor lowboy that is waiting nearby to haul the drill to a solar project in Arizona that starts on Monday. Suddenly a mechanic realizes that the recently replaced/new hydraulic tank (using AW 68 oil) has failed as a result of a manufacturer product defect and has split open, and hydraulic oil is gushing uncontrollably from the tank on to the ground. It is 33 degrees Fahrenheit and raining.
Additional Elements:
- The lowboy needs to leave by 5:00 pm to transport the drill to the solar project.
